The Pleasant Hill Fourth of July Commission is an all-volunteer group of local citizens. The Commission is co-sponsored by the City of Pleasant Hill and the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Parks District. Each year we plan, organize and conduct the city's Fourth of July festivities.

We are always looking for additional volunteers to help out with these activities. There are many opportunities to help. We need organizers, planners, fund raisers, idea people, and just about anyone who wants to contribute and have a fun time with it. If you are interested in contributing your ideas, time and energy, or just want to know more about us we would love to hear from you. There are two different ways you can participate:

Commission Members: The commission members are committed members who meet approximately once a month all year long to plan out the July 4th festivities. There are about 25 commission members. Most commission members prefer assignment to a specific activity such as parade, fireworks, etc. Others prefer to help out wherever help is needed. Flexibility is one of our strong suits.

Activities Volunteers: These volunteers come out to give us a few hours of their time on the BIG DAY, July 4. They help out as parade monitors, help with games and various park activities after the parade, assist with the fireworks in the evening, and generally make themselves useful with whatever needs to be done on July 4th. Typically we need these folks to give us 3 or 4 hours of help on this one day per year. Most of these volunteers tend to come back again every year because they have such a good time.

Whatever your skill or your interest might be, we can guarantee you an opportunity to meet and work with some really fine people. You can make a meaningful contribution to this beloved holiday, and have a barrel of fun to boot.
