PICNIC
* GAMES * RIDES * MUSIC * FUN
Be
sure to come directly to Pleasant Hill Park right
after the parade. The park is located downtown
at the corner of Cleaveland & Gregory Lane,
a short walk from the parade route. Bring the
whole family - there is something for everyone.
In fact there is plenty for everyone!

Whether
you want to just sit in the shade of the big
oak tree and listen to an old fashion park concert,
try your skill at
the
pie
eating
contest, picnic on the lawn, or join in the action games,
Pleasant Hill Park is the place
to be right after the parade.
Starting
at 10:30 am and lasting till 2:30 pm, come and
enjoy live musical entertainment, excellent
bbq food, games,
contests, clowns, rides, petting zoo......
just loads of fun for everyone. Get into
the spirit of this patriotic holiday and join
us and
your neighbors for
a good old-fashioned neighborhood party. Admission
is free.

There
are plenty of picnic tables and also plenty
of grassy areas where you can spread a blanket
for
your lunch. In case you prefer not to prepare
food on this holiday, we have a treat for you. The highly popular and award
winning Back Forty Texas BBQ Restaurant
will be there,
cooking a variety of hot food on-site.

"The Back Forty BBQ restaurant proudly supports the Pleasant Hill Fourth of July celebration each year. We will be at the park again this year cooking and serving our award winning pork ribs, slow smoked beef brisket, BBQ chicken, pulled pork and brisket sandwiches along with traditional side dishes."
"Family owned and operated in Pleasant Hill for 32 years, the Back Forty BBQ restaurant offers national award winning BBQ served up with southern hospitality and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. Located at 100 Coggins Drive, we serve Contra Costa County's needs for catering, banquets, dine-in and carryout. We'll be there to serve you at Pleasant Hill Park on July 4."

Sneak peek! The pie eating contest shown above will be back this year. Better yet - the pies will be chocolate cream!

Back
again this year! We
will again have the
band stage under the big oak
tree, with rousing patriotic and traditional
music. Between sets there will be an array
of entertainers on stage including
magicians,
dancers,
and enough variety to keep the
whole family entertained.
Most of all there will be excellent
music. All the music is live,
all the music
is good, and all
the
music
is for
your
enjoyment.
Also
this year will be a wider variety of games and
contests at the park. The slides and train ride
and
the many attractions for the younger kids will
still be there, but in addition there will be more
challenging
attractions that will appeal to the older kids
among us. The teen set can test their skills in
the bungee run and other action games. Whether your interest is in good
music,
good food,
fun rides, challenging contests, just sitting
in the grass with your neighbors, or all of these
things, there will be something for everyone in
your
family at the park. Come, relax, and enjoy yourself
after the
parade.

What could be better
on a hot July afternoon than a watermelon eating contest?
Join the fun and maybe even win a prize!
Most
of your neighbors will be at the park after the
parade. It's a short
1-block walk from the parade route. Join the fun for
a traditional neighborhood July 4 celebration.
